Benny The Butcher drops Tana Talk 4 on 3/11/2022

The wait is over!!!! After the years of waiting since the last Tana Talk installment, Benny has managed to push the culture further than what it is. Bringing rap back to when people would spit bars instead of all that harmonizing and singing. When the world was emo suffering from rappers crying over things they can’t control, Benny brought the griminess back to Hip-Hop. If Hip-Hop is the NBA, Benny would definitely be Ja Morant; a star on a team full of young stars.

Benny The Butcher, top tier MC

He (Benny) is one of those rappers who can paint his guns and drug bars and make Van Gogh paintings out of them. The issues with this young generation is that they do not appreciate art. Instead, they want music they can get high too or have unprotected sex and get a woman pregnant causing child support. I met Benny The Butcher in Cleveland and him standing in front of me feels like I seen Rakim & Big Daddy Kane put in one. Once I told him that as an honest fan, his music helped me battle anxiety because while working two jobs and going to college, I would not have no time for fun and Benny looked back and said, “Of course, you got to have fun”. Benny is down to Earth and with his flow made him look so immaculate.

Benny The Butcher dropped Johnny P.s Caddy earlier in the year.

Benny is not just an artist but an awesome human being. The Burden of Plugs tour, he announced Tana Talk 4 multiple of times which had me wishing it would drop or he perform a snippet on the album. To those that never seen a Benny show, I suggest that you pay him a visit and you will not be mad at the money you spent. That night was so great, I did not want to come home. Benny as a rapper, performer, and a mogul brings to light that any independent artist can make it if they grind and make the marketing strategy work.

On March 11, 2022; Benny The Butcher dropped Tana Talk 4. The fourth installment in his series and it is an instant classic. Diving deep into this 12 track album, this is art on every track. For those who appreciate art, this would be a vinyl you would want to hang up in your house for decorations purpose. These raps paint a picture of poverty, hunger, and struggle. Though these tough topics, these raps sound so beautiful with its poetic delivery. Uncle Al and Darringer produced this album perfect.

Tana Talk 4

  1. Johnny P’s Caddy Feat. J.Cole- I thought Cole was retiring from doing guest features? Benny is paying homage to his dad’s old cars that he use to hustle drugs in and with J.Cole guest feature, he letting it be known that these rappers are in trouble and they got a problem as soon as the Butcher Coming.
  2. Back 2x Feat. Stove God Cooks- The Griselda sound which relies on dope sales and guns made this soulty sample sound like the old grimey rap in the 90s. Benny channels his inner Dipset with reference to Cartier’s and lavish materialistic items.
  3. Super Plug- The national anthem for all the Dope Boy’s across the world. Alchemist made this beat perfect and if Prodigy from Mobb Deep is alive, he would do a freestyle on Tim Westwood over this beat. “You niggas is a crutch to me, I use y’all for leverage”, (Benny The Butcher, 2022) which meant that Benny is stepping on necks this year and he not letting go.
  4. Weekend in The Perry’s Feat. Boldy James- Boldy James is an artist from Detroit who has not gotten the recognition for the work he put in. Benny The Butcher raps about his trust issues with other rappers connecting that the music industry is like the streets. It is hard to trust people in the same game. Boldy James also admits he quit smoking cigarettes. That is true honesty.
  5. 10 More Crack Commandments Feat. Diddy- Benny remade Biggie’s classic and made it more update when it comes to the spirit of Hip-Hop. Even if your not selling crack, these are rules to follow to protect your riches and the company you keep.
  6. Tyson V.s Ali Feat. Conway- This is a back and forth rap between the best rappers in the game.
  7. Uncle Bun Feat. 38 Spesh- Two of the best collaborating partners I heard in years. An ode to Bun B, an Underground King.
  8. Throwy’s Revenge- Rapping about the injustice of court and law. The struggles of a minority is being rapped in this song.
  9. Billy Joe- Benny rapping his raps saying “I’ll never serve another brick until I learn sign language”, (Benny The Butcher, 2022) which meant that people talk to much. Benny makes things clever when he puts his words together.
  10. Guerrero Feat. Westside Gunn- What is a Griselda track without any wrestling reference? Fly God and The Butcher.
  11. Bust A Brick Nick- This is music you would hustle too. Even if you are at work, play this on your earphones and this will make you feel like a true hustler. He cleverly raps, “ My shirt says come here bitch, I don’t skirt chase”, (Benny The Butcher, 2022). This is a humorous way of saying he don’t chase woman, woman chase him.
  12. Mr. Chow- The outro is a reference to his favorite Chinese restaurant. He views the hatred from his city where his locals still hate him for the success he puts in.

Overall

The Butcher Coming

Tana Talk 4 is a classic. It is sad we might never hear the 1st installment which is the lost album’s of albums. Benny has proven to be a top tier MC when it comes to controlling the microphone and how he works his magic on beats. This is a classic because there are no skips and you can play this album through and through all day long.

The tracks explain poverty, struggle, & hunger all in one while the other rappers rap about jewels and how many woman they slayed. Real Hip-Hop is back on this album. Being able to decipher the album is like breaking down a painting. In every picture, each picture paints words and they tell a story. So does Tana Talk 4. With that being said, Benny has another classic on his belt which results means that he is reaching his highest peak in his rap career.
