Hello Everybody,

I been working ever since a teenager and this work experience taught me to know your worth and your skill sets and to also keep your options open. For example, my main work experience came from food industry but I always kept up to date with work resumes. Learning how to make one in my first year of college is hard to dissect but the thing is employers look after key terms and words.

One thing I also learned about work resumes is that the point in your interviewer to know how your going to sell yourself. This is a chance for people to read what you have to understand key terms to find the reasons to hire you. Back to me being in food industry, I still put applications outside of food industry to broaden my horizon’s and to keep employers interested into hiring me.

As I sit in my classroom, I jot a couple notes down on things I could do when I feel like switching careers. For example, even though I am working in the food industry, I also put applications in mental health facilities, manufacturers, and even doctor offices as a clerical. Here are tips and advice on what to find when you want to change careers.

  1. Thing outside of the box

Food industry is fun because you can also make friends, progress, or even skill set’s that can help you move step further. Being in the food is fun but it is also regurgitating because of the task in general or it gets boring after awhile. It is okay to do so because I also work for a life insurance company that helps get families out of debt. This isn’t a occupation I do not like doing but I enjoy meeting new people and I love the learning experience because it taught me every customer is different. Even though this is out of my typical work I had, this job also helped me develop public speaking skills.

2. Build your skill sets

New opportunities means that you can build something new to your resume. This is important for resumes because there are two types of skill sets, hard skills and soft skills. Hard Skills involve technical things like learning a new language, learning office 360, or even handy work like things with tools. Soft Skills involve simple mathematics, reading, and sometimes public speaking. Building your skills will help you further your life quicker and those who look over your apps will know what you will bring to the table.

3. Build your connections

Building your connections will help you in life because you want someone to back you up when it comes down to occupations. The occupations that you are looking at will always ask “ do you know anyone that works with us”? This was a hard step because I myself is introvert but only sociable around people I know. Getting to know more people can help you because there is always a connection to get to where you need to be.

4. Practice with Class

I admit, I may not be the most perfect speaker but because I read a lot of books for fun, I am always improving my vocabulary skills. These things help because the person who is looking at you or interviewing will rely on how well you can comprehend. Vocabulary expansion is a great comprehension exercise because the more you speak with clear and use a great vocabulary, the interviewers will know how intelligent you are and you may have the job by the way you talk. This is the same as finding key words with.

5. Find an approach

I been to a lot of job interviews in the past. As a teenager, I got lucky to get hired on certain places and the way I dressed that day showed that my employers that I was not interested but I was still hired. As I end up saving more money, I also kept an idea of how to dress on future interviews so I bought more dress shirts, slacks, ties, and dress shoes. The approach along with the resume, speaking skills during interviews, and confidence is how you dress. This shows the person interviewing you that you have an interest in the company and it shows how the company how you carry yourself.

This is an example of how to present yourself during an interview

After writing down personal notes and descriptions of what kind of work I want to do, I have noticed that I had pros and cons during interviews. To get to my goals, there are few things I must scratch out along with things I must improve on. Doing a self-reflection, knowing your worth is the key to what you want because finding your worth only means to find what you want and what they want out of you. Improving yourself everyday even if it means to cut off smoking to whiten your teeth, hitting the gym to show the person interviewing you that you take care of yourself, or even showing up to a job interview best dressed even if you have no vehicle to show forth just means that you have an interest in working in new areas and that you want to expand your pinnacle.

Sincerely,

Andrew Kenekham
