You know one of those moments where you sit back and wait for a sequel from your favorite viewing or listening pleasure and when you hear that. If Pusha T’s solo catalog was a video game series, his discography would be the Elder Scroll series and this would be Skyrim. I actually thought his best album was Daytona because of how this simple EP sounded like a timeless classic. It still does, do not get me wrong. But it is rare that a follow up can top the prior release.

Diet Coke By Pusha T

I do not know exactly when Jesus was born because White America wants us to believe it was on Christmas but one thing that the real date Jesus Christ was born and April 22, 2022 have in common; Three Wise Men brought gold frankincense and myrrh. Kanye West and Pharrell Williams, two childhood icons behind the sounds came together and made a Pusha T album that the world will never forget. How this happen? Two things happened in a manger. One on the day that Jesus was sleeping in and the other manger was another Pusha T album but it was being crafted. Anyways, where it all is about to be to the point is that many of those remember both dates not comparing either to one or the dates to each other but three wise men did bring gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Pusha T, Kanye’s, & Pharrell gold, frankincense, and myrrh was dope rhymes, great production, & quality.

Collaborations from Kid Cudi to Jay-Z helps bridge the gap where old and new Pusha T fans can come together and enjoy this CD. One thing that is important is that Pusha T had me confused whether this is a Clipse CD or Ye telling Push to go on some biblical theme. Either way, this almost took me back to when Pusha did verses from 2002 when Pharrell instrumentals was playing but also we got to see Fear Of God Push. This is definition of perfect because Pusha managed to use old Pusha and new Pusha.

Pusha T drops Its Almost Dry on April 22, 2022

As we go through this track list, we will dive to what makes this album special.

  1. Brambleton- Pusha T is telling stories about how it all started. The hook is about the trips he took when he was moving drugs. Poo was his road manager who was locked up which caused a Clipse breakup or hiatus as I would like to say. Pharrell did a hell of a job putting this beat together and this intro is a story about a man from Virginia.
  2. LTSSTC- Let the Smokers Shine The Coup. This is pure dope rap and Pusha T is shining with his dope raps. LTSSTC is proof that Pusha T is Cocaine’s Dr. Seuss. Pharrell brought rookie Pusha T where he still rapped like a vet no matter
  3. Dreaming of The Past Feat. Kanye West- Daytona’s leftover stash song? Maybe but this does bring the dope raps Pusha T drops. Him name dropping Shyne is one of the proudest moments I seen in hip hop because the scheme he dropped with that song. “ Huff and Puff in the club, then I gotta be Shyne. Properties all across the board, This monopoly’s mine. Became a minister then I gotta be Shyne”. This is pure genius because how Pusha T grew and stood out from his traditional side of rapping with the cocaine but delivering witty lines like those, made it seem that he grew from Daytona and he did. Kanye killed it with the samples.
  4. Neck and Wrist Feat. Jay-Z- Haunting pure Pusha T entendre’s with Jay-Z talking about putting someone’s mansion on his wall. Jay- Z also reminded us that Hov will never change and that is a promise. Pharrell came hard with this one.
  5. Just So You Remember- A reminder that Pusha T is still killing it with his coke bars. but with Kanye’s loop. Listening to this song is like listening to that show about the rich lifestyle on audio but with cocaine.
  6. Diet Coke- The Fat Joe sample made the song and making the quote price this song. Detroit Challenge, whats your dope like? Kanye’s beats is a group project.
  7. Rock N Roll Feat. Kid Cudi and Kanye West- I was mad at this song because literally, Kid Cudi did not even hum in this song. That is liking watching South Park and there is no Goddamnit Kenny remark from Cartman. Kid Cudi is not cool with Ye because he (Ye) is an asshole but they do create good music together. I did not say this song is weak or horrible but Kanye did his 808 and heartbreak flow on this and Ye and Pharrell did do a great job at creating this.
  8. Call My Bluff- 1–800-Call-My-Bluff is a great song and this brings 06 back. This reminds me of Mr. Me Too solo version. This record is amazing because he is battle rap Push, not cocaine push. Pharrell
  9. Scrape it Off The Top Feat. Don Toliver & Lil Uzi Vert- A club song produced by Pharrell. All that is missing is Chad Hugo but I do not think he does music anymore.
  10. Hear Me Clearly Feat. Nigo- This song was previously released on Nigo’s project. Ye made this.
  11. Open Air- This should of been Neptunes instead of just Pharrell’s beat. Matter of fact, lets get another Neptunes beat for the one time.
  12. I Pray For You Feat No Malice & Labyrinth- Clipse reunion. Because this song was so good, can we get another Clipse album.

Overall

Pusha did a hell of a job grabbing Pharrell and Ye on the same project. He damn near made this a Verzuz battle between the two with more of a newer updated beats and style. This is a great follow up in fact, this would be album of the year nominee in my opinion. The coke raps and the new wave T has made headlines with It’s Almost Dry.

Salute Pusha,

Live from the stove top,
